
Who the hell is Ziibiikwans?
Ziibiikwans (she/her) is an Anishnaabe kwe Visual Artist, Beader, Advocate and Environmentalist from Bkejwanong, Ontario. Ziibiikwans is mixed, with her Dad being Ojibwe and their Mom being Euro-Canadian Settler (Irish, Scottish, Welsh, British). They grew living both on and off Bkejwanong. Ziibiikwans has dedicated her career to serving the Indigenous peoples in Canada, having received a Bachelor of Social Work and so far accumulating 10 years of community, social, cultural and educational work with indigenous people across Turtle Island (First Nations, Métis and Inuit).

Okay, but what do they do?
They have an Undergraduate in Social Work and are currently pursuing their Masters of Environmental Studies with a focus on Indigenous Political Ecology. They want to create art, fashion and content to support the ongoing efforts towards decolonization, indigenous sovereignty, environmental stewardship and critically reflecting on current indigenous trends, dialogues and experiences.
